I went looking for a fairly mild recipe for an upset tummy day. This looked pretty safe, except maybe for the red pepper flakes and a whole onion, so I decided to give it a try.
We didn't feel like cooking potatoes or macaroni to make a salad to go with our half subs, so we came up with this out of the cupboard instead. Not bad for a quick throw together!
Vegetarian salad, with a lot of flavor. Serve as a meal or as a side dish on a bed of lettuce or in pita pockets. Tofu may also be pan fried in a small amount of oil with a tablespoon of curry powder instead of boiling method.

I got this recipe out of a Williams Sonoma cookbook. You can make this as spicy as you want it or as mild as you want it. With 2 jalapenos, it has a nice kick. One jalapeno, it has a milder spice. I prefer spicier :-) This dish is delcious served over steamed basmati rice (brown or white).
Soy chunks are nothing but TVP in chunky form, available at most health food stores.
Garam masala is a ground spice mix with cardamoms, cloves, coriander, black pepper, and ground cumin

This is a mild flavored potato like fried cake. Pleasant, but more spices might be beneficial. I served with FF sour cream and salsa.
