I LOVE Alfredo sauce. I had a huge craving for it the other night, so I thought I would try my hand at making a low-fat version. I substituted olive oil for some of the butter since it is considered a healthier source of fat.
You can either stuff into casings or make into patties. Excellent choice for Atkin's or other similar low carb diets.
I'm following the DSP diet plan which does not allow gluten or sugar. I made these because I wanted a sausage that didn't contain either of the two. They're very hard to find in the stores. This is quick and easy and tastes a thousand times better than the store bought version.
This recipe is suitable for Atkins or other low carb diets. The addition of chicken broth and white wine make this a little different from the typical alfredo sauce. It's just delicious!
Better than meatloaf! Rolled up with ham and cheese inside. I usually use mozzarella Italian blend cheese (even better!) and sometimes use salami in place of the ham.
We were trying to figure out the calories and such one night after we had already mixed everything together and had no idea how much pasta, sauce and sausage we had in the dish, so we compiled into the recipe calculator. Made a great dinner, kids loved it, we loved it...quick and easy dinner!
