This is how I make it. I usually brown a pound of beef, but wanted the calorie counts for a single serving.

Green pepper can be substituted for the Jalapeno pepper for a milder pepper flavor.

This is a fantastic mexican soup. We make ours with ground venison but the original recipe calls for ground turkey. The nutritional value is done with the ground venison. This is ALOT of soup. Cut the recipe in half if you have a smaller family.
Add all the ingredients including dry tortellini in 4 cups of water and boil it for 20 mins on the medium heat stove. note -- do not fry the onion. no additional oil needed

FRIE FISH IN OLIVE OIL SPRINKLED WITH TACO SEASONING UNTIL COOK THOUGH. MIX BEANS SOUP AND GREEN CHILI PEPPERS IN SMALL BOWL. BREAK UP COOKED FISH AND MIX IN SOUP MIXTURE. COVER BOTTOM OF BAKING DISH WITH TORTILLA (I USE A SMALL ROUND DISH THE SAME SIZE AS THE TORTILLA) COVER THE SIDES OF DISH WITH TORTILLA BY CUTTING THE IN HALF. LAYER TORTILLA AND MIXER WITH A LITTLE CHEDDER CHEESE. ENDING WITH CHEESE ON TOP. BAKE FOR 30 MINS @ 350 DEGREES
I sometimes mix Emeril's Essence with Chili powder instead of plain chili powder adn will also sometimes add green and or red bell pepper if on hand
Fast, filling and low in both fat and calories -- who could ask for anything more? The filling keeps well in the refrigerator so one batch covers my lunches for 3 days!
