My friend Lorna introduced to buffalo chicken calzones a few years back and man it quickly became one of my favorite dish. While I have tried to duplicate her recipe several times and it can never match hers. When I started keto I was sad about giving this meal up.
Tonight I re-created my own version of it. It tasted really good so I will share.
This recipe is from the Pillsbury website. The site calculates the calories at 410 for this dinner with the horseradish sauce. (I added the sauce in the instructions but not in the recipe as i don't care for horseradish.)
Put in the crock pot and let it cook all day. Use Brown Gravy powder to thicken a little
This is not my original recipe - although I have made it my own with the addition of parmesan & seasoning. It's floating around on various low carb boards, and is ABSOLUTELY delicious, fast, and healthy. Toasts well, makes great sandwiches. It's fluffy and really wholegrain tasting. You will never believe there is NO grain in it!
I make these for my family and they love them. They are high in fat so I limit myself to 1 or 2 from the batch. I also make a cream chz. icing for my family but I don't touch it.
If you do not have an electric mixer do not seperate eggs just mix the whole egg with the milk. Seperating just makes the muffins light and fluffy.
Also you can aliminate the brown sugar mix if it is not to your liking they will still come out great or add pecans or walnut to the Brown sugar mix.
(you will need to recalculate calories if you alter the recipe)
This is a spin-off of the chili my mom makes! I turned it healthy by subbing turkey for beef and tried to reduce the sodium a bit. Took this to a TOPS holiday potluck and it was a hit!
If you are still concerned about the sodium content, I recommend finding low sodium salsa or omitting the taco seasoning packet all together. Also, using ground turkey breast reduces the already minimal fat content.
This is a variation of one from the Moosewood cookbook that I've made every summer for years. Even kids like this!
A tasty meal that you can add corn, onions, avocado's or whatever you happen to have in the house!
This is YUMMY.........you get a big portion for not a lot calories! I serve it with homemade bread sticks and a salad!!!!
I swapped out the white sugar for SPLENDA to make it more diabetic-friendly.
Love this! Make it almost once a week. I ended up using a cup of frozen corn kernels I had and it turned out well. Use any extra veggies you like. I also make the biscuits a little smaller than fourths, just tear with my hands.
The original recipe serves 8, but we love it so much we get about 6 servings out of it instead. Oops!
This is a Basic Chicken Fajitas Recipe the whole family can love. Each person can add the additonal items they want like sour cream, cheese, tomato, or anything else you would like.
NOTE: Tortilla was left out because everyone could have a different kind and values would be different.
A new "twist" on egg salad! Light and lemony, very refreshing in the summer. Low on fat and a good source of protein :)
Just like Steve's Original Paleo Krunch Bar (but much cheaper to make on your own). Be creative and add unsweetened cocoa powder or cranberries if you like :) Can be broken up and mixed with berries and coconut milk for a Paleo cereal.
A zesty tomato based chowder with wonderful flavors and textures with chorizo sausage, shrimp and/or fish. Makes 10 servings of 8.7 oz (247 grams) each.
These cookies have reduced the fat by using light margarine and replacing some of it with applesauce. I have also replaced 1/2 cup of flour with flax meal and wheat germ. This makes them high in fiber, less than 100 calories each and totally DELICIOUS.
