You can substitute 1 tsp of lemon extract for lemon zest, you can use 1/2 cup of sugar in place of zero calorie sweetener if you prefer. (In this recipe 1 serving of Truvia is 1 tbsp of bulk zero calorie) These freeze well! Just individually wrap immediately after cooking and freeze. Defrost at room temp for a half hour or zap in the microwave for a few seconds at a time until warm.

Splenda
1/2 Wheat flour
This is a nice sweet treat that doesn't ruin your whole day. This uses regular Splenda (or sucralose) NOT Splenda for baking. You can use the Splenda for baking or you may use granulated sugar, however, the calorie count will not be accurate.

This was a last minute breakfast and I used what I had on hand, whole milk, and regular hamburger buns and salted butter. If you use Wheat Buns or Bread or Skim or 2% milk it would be less calories. I did find that salted butter did give it a bit of salt taste not unpleasant but I would try butter flavored spray next time. It was quite good! Taste just like French Toast. I did not use syrup it was sweet enough as is.
I found this recipe in a more for less world recipes book. These are not your average day pancakes but they are good, low calorie, and filling.

My family says this is the best beef stew they've ever eaten. It's an old-country recipe; although my ingredients say "1-inch cubes" I really mean cut them into bite-sized pieces. An important idea: when you brown the meat some parts, and extra flour, will brown along with the meat. These scrapings add flavor to the stew. If you trimmed the meat well there will be almost no drippings, so it is "safe" to dump the cooked meat, scrapings and all, into the crock.
