This Tzimmes recipe is traditional - it has sweet potatoes, carrots, dried apricots, prunes, dried apples, and orange juice. I make it for my Pesach Seder with Brisket (the more fiber the better, that holiday), and for Rosh Hashanah (though I add some honey then).
It does not have pineapple, mandarin oranges, or marshmallows (yes, I did find a recipe that called for that. This isn't Thanksgiving, folks).
(Can't believe I neglected to say this!) Recipe is Isa's from VCTOTW. Entered for my own calorie tracking purposes back in the day. Apologies to Ms. Isa! I didn't create this fine recipe, I just like it.
Sweet, moist pumpkin cupcakes laced with dark chocolate chips with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. I use Nunaturals stevia baking blend and make 'em fat free with fruit puree rather than oil. The original, unaltered version can be found on theppk.com, I believe. Or in her cupcake book. :)
Amazing, plain and simple. In this recipe beef is replaced with protein rich, low fat seitan (wheat gluten) and sour cream is replaced with tangy soy yogurt. Vegan, fish-free Worcestershire and a good red wine vinegar add richness of flavor. Serve over whole wheat pasta.
Pho is a Vietnamese soup, usually made with boiling beef broth that is poured over various meats and vegetables. This is a non-authentic vegetarian broth that I use instead of beef. It is spicy, and very flavorful with virtually no calories. Pour over raw veggies, add some fresh basil, beansprouts and some tofu for a delicious vegetarian meal.
Almond milk gives this classic Hershey's Hot Cocoa recipe a nutty flavor that warms and still tastes sweet with half the sugar of the original recipe. Kids and adults both LOVE this!

I've made this with either Hubbard or Butternut squash. The Hubbard has a wonderful flavor, but the hard skin makes it very hard to work with. The Butternut squash is easier to work with, and also has a nice flavor.
"This recipe comes from the Cappilano Reserve, Chilliwack, BC and belongs to the Shuswap people. "
My grandmother's stuffed cabbage, veganized. Nutritional info is for a single roll. I made this for my omnivorous friends at Rosh Hashana and it was a big hit.
This spelt berry porridge is a fun change-up of the normal oatmeal breakfast routine! Spelt berries have a wonderful chewiness to them and a delicious nutty flavour. This recipe below is customizable and all kinds of flavours and mix-ins would work here. Add your favourite fruit, nuts, seeds, granola, sweeteners, and nut butters as desired.
A fluffy fruity alternative to enjoy any time of day. Sweet and satisfying with a healthy dose of Blueberries and Bananas anyone in your family can enjoy.
These are awesome! I love these for just about any hearty sandwich that we make around my house! They are delicious!
