Another great recipe from " The Complete Book of Raw Food" By Lori Baird and Julie Rodwell my FAVORITE raw food book! Buy it! You wont be sorry. You may omit the bragg's Aminos and use a teaspoon of salt but I use braggs often anyway. Also a cup of raisins and a half cup of raw sunflower seeds are a nice touch but not figured in the recipe.
Healthy easy-to-make dish with great aroma. I used olive oil instead of butter in this recipe: I believe, it taste much better this way.
Start your day off with these delicious, protein-packed sausages. Each sausage has only 2.5 g of carbs and 5.8 g of protein. Each is 40 calories total. This recipe makes a batch of 40... freeze them in individual packs and you won't have to cook them again for a while!
A relatively green drink - not for the faint of heart! ;-) But a good smooth flavor for those more acustomed to Green Smoothies.
A light and tasty side dish with a spicy Indian flare! Caution: don't hesitate to cut the peppers in half to be more to your liking. I make this large batch so I can freeze and enjoy later.
Vegan pumpkin scones! Sweetened with stevia - good for diabetics and other low-sugar peeps! Nutritional information is for the basic recipe, but add 1/2c chocolate chips and 1/2c walnuts for some extra yumminess and they're only 177 calories! You can also make them with Wheat Flour instead of the White for extra fiber.
I've been trying to come up with some VEGAN Cheezy Beans and I think I've got it. BEWARE: These are pretty spicy! You can tame it down if you need to...
This dressing turns my favorite greens into a meal. Maple syrup is not only full of calories it also contains necessary minerals, and the almonds are also very nutritious.
A filling but low-fat, and light meal of vegetables, grains and miso broth. I haven't used miso mery much so this is probably very non-traditional, but it hit the spot.
This looks completely disgusting, but it does not taste as bad as it looks, lol. You can also replace the tofu with Italian sausage if you are a meat-eater. My boyfriend used to make this all the time. It's one of our favorite quickies.
Literally takes 5 minutes to prepare and is made with olive oil so it's heart healthy. You will NEVER go back to prepared crusts filled with preservatives after trying this. The bragging rights alone of 'homemade crust' are well worth it. This is a salted crust, suitable for quiches and the like - For a sweet crust, omit the salt and add a packet or two or Splenda.
Adapted from Rob Royerson's recipe based on one from the Mormon Diet Cookbook.
