I READY DO LOVE MY MEXICAN FOOD,AND BEING MEXICAN ITS HARD TO EAT HEALTHY .POZOLE IT'S MADE WITH PORK,BUT I CHANGE IT BY ADDING TURKEY, AND IT TASTE THE SAME. THE CHILE PEPPERS I ADDED WERE 20 NEW MEXICO PEPPERS AND 20 CHINESE PEPPERS .I ADDED ALOT BECAUSE WE ENJOY THE HEAT. ONE CUP PER SERVING
Suprisingly delicious recipe created with parts of the different recipes I found online. Fat free half and half and a tablespoon of can't believe it's not butter spray make this a rich and insanely delicious, yet laughably low-calorie dish. Served it in a hallowed out pumpkin that I baked in the oven for 45 minutes.
I love this Hummus! I used to dip my veggies in honey mustard dressing, (way too many calories) This is almost half the calories.
Adapted from a biking magazine to cut down on calories and sodium. Delicious!
This is a Taco Soup recipe that travels around weight watchers meetings and the dieting blogospher periodically. I make it a few times a year and its super yummy! It also freezes really well!
This hearty chowder is chock full of chunky potatoes, turkey and corn in a creamy broth
This is from my Southern Living magazine. I used and calculated with light mayo though the recipe calls for regular. It says to serve on a bed of baby lettuce tossed with blackberries.
I'm not planning to do the 'cabbage soup diet' but I wanted to try the much-touted soup. I was appalled at the sodium content and the inclusion of so many packaged ingredients in the recipes I found online, so I decided to write my own using only fresh ingredients. I did this in the crock pot, but you could do it on the stove in about 30 minutes cooking time.
My 9 yr. old daughter cannot have gluten, so we like to make a lot of soups and chili so we can control the ingredients. Be sure your spices are labeled gluten free! And by the way, this is a NORMAL chili recipe that HAPPENS to be gluten free, so it tastes great :) Any of the spices can be changed to your liking, but the salt and sugar needs to stay in to chemically bind with the acid in the tomatoes. You may mix the spices ahead of time, which we do to keep a quick chili mix on hand as well as cooked and frozen hamburger meat. The canned items are approximate sizes so just get as close as possible and you'll be fine....enjoy!
My mom has made this all my life and "perfected" it. It's always a hit, especially on an Iceberg salad.
Quick, Easy, and delicious. Calorie count is low without the cheese, tortillas, sour cream topping. Of course you can go l.f. or ff. on those as well.
I found a similar recipe when I started my weight loss program and tweeked it to my liking. Very colorful and a nice light side - great with grilled fish or served on top of fish tacos
Sashimi Tuna Steak sauted in garlic, white wine and spices...served over a bed of iceburg salad mix, fresh spinach. For more flavor and color I added, fresh tomatoes, avacado slices, medium olives, cheese, mushrooms and some lite accents spray by Kens.
I just threw this together one night and it was FABULOUS, filling and good for you! The perfect thick soup without any cream. I am trying to recreate the recipe with accurate measurements, but really I just threw stuff in, so as long as you don't add any extra chicken or barley the nutritional info will be correct. Go ahead and add what you like as far as amount of veggies (sans potatoes).
Wanted a little of everything (except for meat) in my salad...I was starving after a run...this is yummy. You can add cherry tomatoes, corn, and even red beans. It is seriously good!
