This is a neat recipe I found on Allrecipe.com. Once again in my quest for low sodium foods I was amazed to see the quantity of Na+ found in the sauces(BBQ, salad, ketchup, etc.)this one isn't too bad because you can tweak the recipe.
Lower Calorie Sugar cookies. I need to a little more work to make them less crumbly than regular sugar cookies but they have the right taste.

I remember Mom & my Grandma's making this attractive recipe. Probably a Purdue Extension Club recipe. I omitted the salt. I wasn't allowed to help make it until I was old enough to use a knife - probably when I was in college. Some prefer to add vinegar or an Italian salad dressing. We just ate as is. Good for carry-in picnics, etc. If you have access to tomatoes of a variety of colors, it is pretty.

To blanch fresh asparagus, add the spears to a large pot of boiling water. Cook, uncovered 3 min, drain. Immediately plunge asparagus into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking. Drain and pat dry.
