This recipe has become a tradition at my home every Halloween. Family and friends look forward to bringing their kids for trick-or-treating around the neighborhood followed with a bowl or two of hot chile and cornbread.
This is a family favorite version of the famous American Chop Suey. I am sure others have similar variations, but I find this one to be the best mixture of meat, noodles and sauce.
This is my dad's recipe from "the old country". The measurements aren't precise and I vary them from time to time based on the color and smell of the food as it's cooking.
This recipe is pretty healthy! it's delicious too! I made it up because I wanted to avoid using those fattening sauces. I hope you enjoy it!
A fast and easy pot pie. My husband dislikes peas, so I use individual bags of frozen vegetables to avoid them. You can use a bag of frozen vegetables just as easliy. This is a great recipe for leftovers. I've made it with beef (although I used cream of potato instead of cream of celery), chicken, and turkey. I normally make 2 at once.
Easy steamed asparagus. If you like your asparagus crunchy, decrease the cooking time and water.
Don't like lemon? Tabasco sauce adds a spicy kick!
This is a Lebanese vegetarian recipe. It is very delicious, can be served hot or cold with Pitta Bread.
You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy it!
Serving size is three ounces, but you will want more if you like fish. Use boneless filet, preferably not more than 1.5 inches thick. You may save few calories using fat free sour cream, but the lower fat topping will separate (curdle).
I used wheat tortillas for the regular flour ones.
