There is no reason to remove silk first; it comes off when husks are removed after cooking.
These are great appetizers, not hot when prepared as stated, by removing the seeds and membrane from each japapeno.
I am not a veggie person so am trying to get in more veggies so I came up with this version. I hope you like it as much as I do.
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
1 tablespoon fresh ginger root, finely chopped
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (finely ground)
2 1/2 tablespoons raw honey
1/4 teaspoon dark sesame oil
2 small pinches coarse sea salt
16 1/4-inch-thick baguette slices
10 radishes, thinly sliced
Soak radishes in cold water. Toast sesame seeds in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and toasty smelling. Grind sesame seeds in a small coffee grinder, food processor, or dry container of a Vita-Mix.
Mix butter, chopped ginger root, ground sesame seeds, raw honey, sesame oil, and 1 pinch of sea salt in a small bowl. Smear each bread slice with ginger butter and cover with a thin veil of overlapping radishes. Sprinkle with 2nd pinch of sea salt.
Original recipe calls for green beans, I have switched it to corn - makes a huge amount - but it is hot, tasty & filling

This is my favorite salad dressing. It can be made with other flavors of preserves but blueberry I think is the best. The better the preserves the better the dressing.
This is what I found I sould do when I was looking for a low calorie dressing using fat free Italian dressing and regular ranch. I got low cals but still a bit of ranch. This is for one serving.
I often make this and change up the types of beans I use often. My chili recipe never stays the same twice! Really want a change of pace, add a can of garbonzo beans (chick peas) to it! The corn is a recent addition that my son LOVES! Gives it a bit of a sweet kick. Want to cut back on the fat? Use shredded chicken instead of beef! Nothing is ever wrong in chili.
WARNING! Even with the low sodium V8 Juice, the sodium on this is crazy high. I don't have sodium issues so I prefer it this way but you may to modify more according to your needs.
A yummy soup full of veggies & protein. Made as is, it's pretty high in sodium so substitute low sodium ingredients if needed.
