Yummy beans with bits of smoked ham. Submitted by: SHOOLEYMCCUCKOO
A flavor powerhouse of protien!! Cooked with no meat or meat by products. Easy to prepare by putting it all in a crock pot. Serve with whole wheat tortillas and a home made Pico De Gallo and it is a surefire hit for the whole family. Also the left overs are really good to mash up the next day with some lime juice and serve with tortilla chips! These beans are great in burritos, as a side dish, or even as a soup! My family gobbled them up. :-) Put this in the crockpot and let it cook all day. No need to presoak the beans!Submitted by: THEROSAS

JUST A POT OF BEANS...A pot of beans can be cooked in a crock pot and or large stew pot. I prefer the crock pot. Once the beans are made can be served as a appetiser(dips), side dish(whole or mashed) , an entree served with cornbread, or used for several other recipes such as; chilli and beans and brown rice.
