I'm going to try this recipe this weekend and wanted to know the nutrition values first. This is based on a recipe that I used to make with whole wheat flour, and I've modified it to be a gluten free bread. Wish me luck! I'll let you know how it turned out, and I'll add a photo later.
Chocolate chip cookie that is sweet, loaded with nutrients and under 100 caleries per cookie.
If you like garlic, you will like this cheeseball. Butter makes it slightly creamy, but can be left out to cut calories if you prefer a denser cheeseball. I made this for a Halloween carry in and added green food coloring to make it a goblin cheeseball. The ears are tortilla chips that I painted with green food coloring and the hair is celery leaves.
Need a Chocolate/PB fix? Pop this quesadilla in the microwave for a sweet, high in fiber snack!
Very simple banana muffins. Use margarine and splenda or similar for a lower calorie total.
My kids LOVE these tasty, chewy granola bars and beg me to make them. They pack well and can be easily adapted to suit your tastes. Any dried fruit can be used. I find prunes add a real richness to them, but dried apricots, peaches, cranberries, blueberries and cherries are all very nice in these. You can also add nuts, chocolate chips and/or coconut - but my family doesn't miss them in this lower calorie version.
I drastically cut the fat by substituting ranch dressing and cream cheese with kefir yogurt (for cream cheese flavor), silken tofu and ranch seasoning.
This is a recipe for basic fairy cakes. It makes about 15 buns, or 12 big ones!!
To decorate:
This picture shows them with buttercream. I cut a piece out of the finished bun, added a blob of jam, and then buttercream, and put the piece back on. You can decorate them any way you want to!!
These are vegetarian. You could make them with gluten-free flour to make them suitable for coeliacs!
