Sugar Free Chocolate Treasure With Tangy Cherries!
If you love tapioca, you will love this version, & I dare say, with or without sugar, only it will be less in calories without. :)
Authentic, classic, ukrainian-cheese pierogies, like Mama taught me to make; Big batches (5 pounds potatoes=80 ounces) for family Christmas dinners, but can be halved or quartered for a manageable amount for smaller occasions
Serve w/: sour cream, fried onions, bacon chunks, or sausage (kielbasa)
Alternate fillings: drained cottage cheese for the cheddar (w/ potatoes), or forget potatoes & do sauerkraut, or just cheese; OR blueberries, strawberries, etc.
this is the christmas favorite for my family it could be healthier with splenda!
This is a decadent treat. I make it for people at Christmas & try not to eat too much, it's almost like candy! If you let it cool overnight covered, you can cut into these small pieces which pack nicely into tins for gifts...and don't have too many calories each!
This is a great Christmas morning breakfast as it can be prepared the night before and baked while presents are being unwrapped in the morning.
A healthier pecan pie? Yes! This pie uses Splenda in place of sugar, reduced-sugar Karo syrup, egg substitute and a crust made out of rolled oats. You won't get a jiggly 'jelly' like layer like you do with regular pecan pie, but man, it's good!
Cook the small box of vanilla sugar free pudding according to directions on the box - serves 4, let cool. Could use whole or 2% milk to make the pudding tastier.
Chill the pears then place one half of a pear in a fancy serving dish.
Place the chilled pudding in the center of the pear.
Add a doloppe of sugar free preserves on top of the pudding.
You need a BIG BOWL for this salad. If you are following Fuhrman's Eat to Live program, you will understand. Despite the 11 grams of fiber, it looks spectacular and you will be envied if you bring it out at lunch at work. AND it is great pulsed in processor for a micro salad.
A very rich and tangy holiday treat that has a very old world feel. Exceptional dessert for a "traditional" themed gathering. ***Note*** This recipe is intended to be served with warm gingerbread butter sauce. Search for "gingerbread butter sauce" recipe before starting this recipe.
Grandmother's Recipe
If you can find small yellow crooked neck squash, those work best. I live outside the South, so I look for the smallest yellow squash I can find.
And, Grandmother used much more cheese. But, she was fat :-) till the end.
