Not as nasty as you would imagine by the description. Silken tofu is a great substitute for the oil and eggs normally used in cake and brownie mix. (Thanks to other SparkUsers for this tip!)
Yummy! Very molasses-y, and not as unhealthy as a lot of other pies. (Still have to use moderation!)
NOTE: This is my variation on a recipe featured on the Food Network show, "Good Eats"
Original recipe from Nigella Feasts, I’ve taken it and tweaked it in and out to give it a it more of a kick, a bit more fibre and a touch less fat with a whole lot of moisture still packed inside. Don’t let the baking time throw you, it DOES take this long! Tent with foil about ½ way through though, to avoid over-browning the top.
I was skeptical of a sweet recipe that called for black beans, even though there were rave reviews everywhere! It does work, though! Pureed beans are just the ticket to keeping these cakey brownies dark, moist, and fudgey and all without any trace of bean flavour.
Yet another twist on an old favourie, this time kicking up traditional pumpkin pie with a spash of kahlua.
This is a great way to use up those strawberries that have been sitting in the fridge. A yummy sweet treat with some nutritional value.
These cookies are the pinnacle of perfection! If you want a big, fat, chewy cookie like the kind you see at the bakeries and specialty shops, then these are the cookies for you. Each cookie is generously sized.
Really is just baked custard but sounds snazzy when you say healthy creme brulee :)
This is a delightful desert using fresh blueberrys. However I have substituted blueberries for strawberries, strawberries and rubarb, and rubarb. You can add any fruit of equal amount, you like.
A healthy, low-sugar alternative to the typical sugar-bomb zucchini bread. This one is super moist and delicious!
No need to go to a coffee house to buy this delicious drink when you can make it at home for free! Delicious at any time of the year! Drink it hot during the winter and frozen during the summer to cool off or warm up with some minty goodness!
I developed a recipe for a Lemon Blueberry Raspberry Cake that was around 100 calories per serving and thought that perhaps I could adopt similar ingredients to make a Chocolate Cake I can say, "Yes, I'll have a piece of that!" And here it is! And...it's good!
Quick and easy low carb custard. I've been using on Atkins Inuction (phase 1).
Solid little egg custard tart desserts, great on their own (or with fruit when on a higher carb allowance).
Tarts actually taste like what they sound like, a sweet and sour desert. The filling is lime flavored and the fruits are covered by a shiny sugary glaze. Delicious!!
LIghtened from the original lable recipe with egg beaters, splenda & light/fat free versions of the ingredients. STILL it's high calorie.. wow. DH's favorite tho & he insists it's a Thanksgiving must have.. so I tried to lighten it. Next time I will make my own graham cracker crust & try to lighten that up as well..
