Not a low calorie treat, but good for special occasions. If you wanted to lower the calorie count and make it healthier, I would suggest making the cookie mix from scratch with half whole wheat pastry flour and half all purpose flour, egg substitute, and possibly apple sauce.
Delicious recipe for a diabetic. You can make it this way or with any fruit really.
This is my grandma's ice cream recipe that we make every summer. It has no eggs in it, and turns out having sort of an icy texture. It's our family's favorite!!
(When preparing for a ladies retreat, I found that this recipe freezes well.) It is from a Taste of Home publication. It is a healthier version of a favorite recipe. The texture is incredibly smooth and light. (Taste of Home credits Darlene Kohler of Flower Mound, Texas for this version.)
Awesome dessert for the holidays - sweet and tart - definitely a unique pie that even those who don't like cranberries will love. Every time I share it people rave and ask for the recipe.
Got this from a friend at church. OH MY GOSH! The best pecan pie recipe I've EVER tried. And so EASY!
Kids love this!!
To make this recipe healthier you could try to use some type of light butter or spread. I should try it but I just don't really trust the recipe to come out good. I just stick with using my organic butter because I don't know enough about all these spreads and stuff. If you find a substitute for the butter that works for you...please let me know!
A rich an creamy "melted chocolate icecream" dessert. I make this one when I really feel like something sweet and decadent for a reasonable amount of calories.
My grandmother used to make this smooth and creamy sweet dessert. However, her version was high in fat and calories. Here's my leaned down version. It brought memories flooding back and tears to my dad's eyes!
It forms it's own thin crust thanks to the flour, so it's a very easy yet elegant pie. Less than 120 calories and only 4.2 g of fat per serving!
A tasty, orange milkshake. Best in a powerful blender (Vitamix, Blendtec etc) that can pulp and juice an orange.
I found this recipe in Cooking Light magazine years ago and it is a favorite!
