This is a traditional cabbage roll that I have made for years, but with a twist ... extra lean ground beef, no eggs or breadcrumbs.
This recipe comes from a German friend and is a dense, filling bread - definitely not light and fluffy.
I saw several recipes on the site and decided to do my own take on this recipe. I try to economize the time, so I start cooking while prepping. Those times completely overlap.
Mother-in-law went overboard one day when she went grocery shopping and came home with a ton of bratwurst that was "on-sale"...had to find different ways to cook it so that i didn't get board with it...luckily hubby's not a big drinker but he does like beer.
This is a long time Staple for Thanksgiving and Chrismas. I have lightened it up by using the smart balance and less bread and eggs then my Grandmother used
