For a change of pace, serve the sausage & bean mixture over rice or baked potatoes
Or you could combine pasta/sauce/sausage in one pot
The broccoli in this recipe can be substituted for any other veggie. I do not suggest adding meat to this. Although it would taste lovely, milk, eggs and cheese add plenty of protein to the meal.
This is a bright salad with a bold dressing made from lemon juice, cumin and turmeric. Crisp apples and crunchy almonds provide textural contrast. It is a different salad that is oh so healthy.
This is a delightful desert using fresh blueberrys. However I have substituted blueberries for strawberries, strawberries and rubarb, and rubarb. You can add any fruit of equal amount, you like.
This cake is extremely fattening and chock full of calories, but oh so delicious. It probably should only be made on special occasions...
The original recipe was for pancakes, but I make them in our Belgian Waffle maker, thus the number of servings is low and the size is high.
I also use olive oil instead of veg. oil so I get the good fats in my diet.
