A tasty low-calorie treat!! Mixture of water chestnuts, mushrooms, and chicken.
Scalloped potatoes with that beautifully "nutty" Gruyere cheese flavor. The onions can be considered optional, but really blend well with the other flavors. This is an updated recipe from a cooking magazine that I read in 1998.
Creamy, comforting, and bursting with fall flavors, this super-healthy "risotto" made from protein-rich quinoa will wow any crowd.
We loved the coleslaw at Zehnder's restaurant so much we wanted a lower-fat version to eat at home.
Mild banana peppers, cheese, a bit of turkey bacon for a smoky richness, and tomatoes to offer a bit of freshness. Grill them to add another layer of flavor to the dish.
Serve these as an appetizer or unexpected side dish at your next barbecue!
Uses panko, or Japanese breadcrumbs in this recipe. You can substitute whatever breadcrumbs you have on hand.
Boil the potatoes (with skins on) and the eggs until done. While the potatoes and eggs are cooking you can dice up the celery and onion into a fairly large bowl. Let the potatoes and eggs cool, then dice them up as well into the same bowl with the celery and onions. You can leave the skins on the potato if you like. Once everything is chopped you can mix it up with a 1/2 cup of miracle whip and a 1/2 cup of light mayo. Mix everything together and salt and pepper to taste. Lastly, add the vinegar and stir thoroughly and refrigerate until cool. I like mine very tangy so I put more vinegar depending on taste.
Bulger wheat salad -- very fresh tasting, yummy on a hot summer evening with grilled foods. A great alternative to potatoes, pasta, or rice.
Incredibly delicious! Easy recipe... great for company or just a football Sunday at home.
Just a recipe I came across when we had a ridiculous amount of red potatoes to eat from the garden. We have a family of five so I have doubled the original here. It will smell really garlicky, but doesn't taste so. You could always cut down on it if you don't like much garlic.
*please note that I have ignored the last step before and the potatoes are perfectly fine. : )
This deset is very filling, you can top it with fat free cool whip and also substitute mangos for any fruit you like
This is such a simple and delicious side dish and a good way to use up the bounty of summer squash.
This is great for a picnic or potluck. It's very tasty, crunchy and is so much healthier than mayo-laden slaws. Enjoy!
