This tastes like rice pudding. It can be eaten any time and you can add almost anything to it that you like!I would not have put it in the dessert category, but I could not find a category that was appropriate. It makes a great breakfast, but you can eat it any time.

My mother-in-law gave my husband this recipe to make me for me our first Valentine's Day together. We still make it pretty frequently. It's so simple and even my two preschoolers like it. I've increased the amount of carrots because otherwise my kids eat all the carrots. I usually serve it with some instant rice and a salad.
This is a great recipe that can be experimented with. I thought it was good as is. You can Try adding thyme, marjoram, a bayleafor two, ect. Or, for the best and easiest, substitue a good, proven barbecue rub for beef, like Heiffer Dust, which won "Best Rub" at the American Royal a year or two back and is available commercially.
