I made this along side the PF Chang's Chicken wraps recipe and served with brown rice.....VERY tasty. It is adapted from one I found on AllRecipes.com.
This recipe does call for quite a bit of prep work but I feel it's worth it in the end. Everything goes quicker if you have a food processer.
A request came in from one of my bakery clients (who happens to be from Malaysia, not Thailand), who asked me if I could make her a pumpkin pie using two very unusual ingredients: creamed coconut and peanut butter. Not one to turn down an interesting kitchen experiment, this is what I came up with!
I used the left over beef roast from Christmas to make this tasty 10 min meal!
A delicious recipe that was published in the May 2008 Vegetarian Times. I just can't keep this recipe to myself. A word of caution- This is not a low fat meal.
A tangerine's skin is so thin that when it's cooked, you can eat the fruit—peel and all. Asian sweet chili sauce is an orange-colored, slightly spicy bottled Thai sauce; it's available in the Asian foods section of some supermarkets. Chinese five-spice powder can be found in the spice section of most supermarkets.
This is a modification of the recipe by WVEXTEX. Using bagged veggies instead of cutting fresh.
Just a little twist on a traditional dish. Using sesame oil instead of vegetable or canola and brown rice instead of jasmine long grain.
How I learned to make it from friends of family! Yes, the fats are alarming and probably from the chicken and cannot be helped. You can probably make a healthier version of this with shrimp.
Note: I omitted the usual Fish Sauce because it is not listed and it is so salty that I usually try to omit it or use very little. However, if you aren't watching your sodium as closely as I am go right ahead! It really does add an authentic thai flavor.
I'll probably post my healthier take on this soon.
Second note: BASIL IS FRESH BASIL. Not herbal.
Better and healthier than chinese take-out. Perfect for a heavy lunch or dinner.
Can be served as appetizer or as a entrée with veggie and dip or soup side dish
Easy recipe for cubed pork. Serve over rice. (could use chicken instead too) Serves 5.
A filling lettuce wrap! Good for a quick lunch that will keep you satisfied till dinner time.
Based on a couple of recipes as guides and what I had on hand. Tastes so much like the curry at our favorite local restaurant, and so easy!
This can easily be made vegetarian by omitting the shrimp and fish sauce, though the fish sauce does add distinct Thai flavor.
