I altered this recipe from the Gajar Matar recipe I found in 'The Food of India: A Journey for Food Lovers'. Peas=Matar but I use whatever vegetables I'm in the mood for.
This breakfast, made out of oat bran is healthy and keeps you full for atleast 5-6 hours.
Kedgeree is a British-Indian colonial meal that has been adapted as a first-run show of color from leftover salmon. This is a take on a recipe from the September or August 2011 issue of Fine Cooking. I prepared it quite differently and gave myself 6 servings instead of four for the recipe, and it drops to just about 331 power-packed calories from 650! I love the protein and fiber count! I think it has a mild Indian flavor, but like so many Indian dishes can be heated up easily--especially if you stir in an unground Indian spice mix and roast in the oiled pan before you begin your saute.
A base recipe which can be played around with for meat pasta sauce, or added vegetables of tomatoes, potatoes, zucchini, etc
This isn't a recipe from scratch but definitely holds some very classic Indian flavor. I use to live in McAllen, Texas, and befriended an Indian family who owned a local restaurant. This was one of my favorite meals!
My husband loves carrots, but I'm generally not a fan. I do however love soup. Inspired by carrot soup recipes I've seen around the net, I decided to create my own version. We both loved this soup and wish I had made more! I will be making it again soon.

Only uses 1 ingredient, Whole wheat flour, and they are very healthy and delicious!
