This is from Clean Eating Magazine for some reason when I calculate it on here it's way higher in calories etc. than theirs and I used less olive oil. 4 servings as in 4 shells.
This recipe makes 2 9 x 13 inch pans. I usually freeze half the recipe to cook at a later date.
This is very good comfort food and a great way to warm up on a cold evening. With this recipe feel free to use whatever pasta you have and add or omit any vegetable. This recipe was found on epicurious.com
Use 12 sheets of the no-cooking necessary egg noodles (depending on the size of your casserole dish) to make this 4-layer lasagne. Add as much or little salt as necessary to the meat sauce.
Despite being a low carb recipe, this is one of our family's favorites and is even enjoyed by friends without dietary restrictions. It's a moist, delicious, recipe that calls for almond flour rather than bread crumbs. 2 Net carbs per 3 meatballs, in a recipe of 12.
Delicious low carb comfort food! I like to serve these with zucchini noodles.
I wanted to try Chef Meg's Slow Cooker Lasagna but it was full of meat and cheese. This is a vegan take on the same recipe -- made with 6 instead of 8 servings because... I don't know who she was kidding with that 8 business. Some key differences -- we're using about twice as many noodles but eliminating cheese and using basic tofu "ricotta" cuts so many calories that it comes out about even. You're going to also lose about 4g of Fat and about 3g of protein if you follow her suggested 8 servings but, again, we're figuring on this being 6. There was a lot of debate on Meg's recipe regarding what the cup size measurement is of a serving. It depends a great deal on your particular slow cooker as to what it will look like but it is about 1.75 cups worth of the mixture. It should contain about 2 noodles, about a cup of "meat & sauce" and about 1/4 cup of the "ricotta". I hope this helps.
