Trade traditional burger buns for buttery crescent rolls for a new twist on sloppy joes. Uses the Spark People top-rated Diet Coke Sloppy Joes recipe.
mash beans with a fork, mince 1/3 cup each of raw carrots, celery, green pepper, and onion. Mix together. Pack into 1/3 cup measuring cup, plop out onto bread crumbs, flip, shape into patties (6). Cook in frying pan sprayed with cooking spray. I also use the same recipe and add sage to it , shaping into 1/4 cup patties to make veggie "breakfast sausage"
Night before: Cook the chicken. The next morning, combine all the ingredients in this sandwich and wrap tightly in wax paper or a cloth napkin for easy transport.
got the recipe for the honey mustard chicken online. tweaked it a bit since i didn't have all the ingredients on hand and turned it into a filling sandwich.
Coconut Oil replaces butter for browning.

Upon eating can smell a touch of coconut oil but I don't taste the coconut.
This bread is a must on the Thanksgiving table. This has been a tradition in our family for generations. I improved on a classic when I replaced the yeast for Quick-Rise and baked it at a higher temperature for a shorter time. Now, it's my job to make it every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It makes the best toast for breakfast!
