I've tweeked my original recipe to make it a little healthier and added some vegetables. The bacon grease is important for the flavor, but I did take it down from 3Tbs to 2Tbs. My husband has always loved my potato soup, but is ok with the changes. You can added shredded cheese and the bacon crumbles if you wish, but it is not calculated in this recipe.
