Tasty, nutritious, hearty (and less than 300 calories) - Mom would approve!
We grow kohlrabi in the garden, so we like to pick some when they're still young and tender for this great slaw. The Kohlrabi gives it the cabbage-slaw flavor, but the sugar sweetens it up a notch. Omit the sugar if you use MiracleWhip or another sweeter flavored mayonnaise.
A colorful, tasty and nutritious alternative to regular potato salad. Featured on my food blog in October 2007.
Tradtionally this uses real bacon but I often use the turkeybecause it costs less and is lower in fat.
White Kidney Bean Soup. It's the most hearty, delicious easy-to-make soup I have found. I can't get enough of it.!
Using Cauliflower to replace potatoes adds fiber and nutrients. Using lowfat or nonfat yogurt adds flavor and trims calories. You can change the ratio of white potatoes, sweet potatoes and cauliflower to change the flavor; and use vegetable broth and leave out the ham to make it vegetarian.
We hope you like our family chili recipe. It's really good when it's cold outside. The recipe listed is how I make it. Feel free to tweak it to your liking and substitute to your own taste and dietary needs. A serving is about 1.5 cups. Enjoy! (please be gentle this is my first recipe submission)
Flavorful, fast, and refreshing. Can be served warm or at room temperature.
A great soup that is fast and easy to make and full of antioxidents and veggies. My kids love this soup. DON'T omit the honey, the soup is bitter without a touch of sweetner. Can be vegetarian just omit the shrimp.
