serve these as a side dish with a nicve indian curry, or lentil dal for dinner, with a large salad for lunch, or leftover with fruit preserves for breakfast the day after making them. They are very simple, but very good.
This is a recipe I came up with as an alternative to the greasy fried rice that's available in restaurants. The flavour is similar, but without the unnecessary fat. This is a decent recipe for one, but for a family you can multiply it as many times as you need to.
Got this recipe from Price Chopper (our local grocery store) and have made it twice. My whole family liked this one which says alot for the recipe. The recipe says to use a grill but I used my George Foreman grill and it worked beatifully. Also, you can use Promise Margarine to lower the fat grams.
GREAT FOR WHEN YOU HAVE A BUSY EVENING PLANNED. JUST START IT IN THE MORNING AND BY TIME YOU GET HOME DINNER IS DONE.
My mom used to make this super easy dinner in large batches, but now that I'm in college and living alone, I make less of it at once.
It's super healthy, super filling, and a wonderful comfort food!
I got this recipe from my Biggest Loser Family Cookbook. I just finished making this for myself and my boyfriend (a picky eater mind you), his remarks "That was really good! Filling too!!
"Browned ground turkey and cannellini beans are combined with green chilies, onion and garlic in this chicken stock based soup seasoned with cumin, oregano and cinnamon. Serve with grated jack cheese."
UPDATED.... SWAPPED OUT SOUR CREAM WITH GREEK YOGURT. A nice taste for chicken in a Flour Tortilla. Would also be good in a crock pot with cheese added in and use canned chicken instead and use with chips as a dip.
This recipe is so simple and good! Even my husband who hates Indian food really likes this. It has a great tomato base, which can be diluted by adding more sour cream. Add any vegetables or spices you like and serve with rice or naan!
Cheesy chicken breasts on rice with mixed vegies very good!
A quick and easy creamy dish with plenty of veggies and not a lot of calories! Use low sodium broth and low fat parmesan for an even lower calorie count.
