This has been one of my favorite recipes of all time, the only problem is the calories are enough for all day.
A great vegetarian meal, high in protein and fiber, low in fat, that is hearty and satisfying. Can be modified for individual tastes and levels of spice.
This recipe is very tastey. You can add a lot of varitey to this one. Basically anything you would make a burrito with can go on and or into this recipe.
Many optional ingredients can be added such as spanish rice or regular rice as a layer on the beans.
Black sliced olives.
The use of Ground turkey or even cubed or diced chicken or fish or pork.
It can be topped with salsa or sour cream.
Here is the basic recipe that I aways start with.
this is a rich in flavor low in calorie casserole, big enough to feed an army with hearty portions, and rave reviews from even picky eaters
I whipped this together tonight, with just what I had on hand. My family really liked it and convinced me to make it my first post! As I do with all recipes, you can use this one as a guide, and make whatever changes you think will improve it. The fat content is actually lower than calculated, as I drained the fat off the chicken and turkey.
I served this with a dollop of fat free sour cream, a T. of fat free shredded cheddar and some diced green onion (keep in mind these are not added to the calories but they add no fat!) but you can dress it any way you like. I hope you enjoy it!
Yummy, flavorful chicken that can be made on the stove top OR crock pot. Nutrition info is for chicken only, not brown rice.
Use this as a side or the main course!!!
The servings can vary- and you can add more or less of any ingredient depending on your taste!! I love Mushrooms so I do a lot of them.
Recipe from RecipeZaar. Originally posted by RiffRaff. This might have been a Mean Chef recipe . . . Top rated spinach recipe. I reduced the butter about from 2TBS down to 1TBS.
This recipe is also great using Tilapia. But feel free to use any fish you like!
A basic tomato sauce. I find the combination of Italian-style stewed tomatoes and fire-roasted tomatoes as the base gives a nice flavor to it. With a couple of additions or subtractions you can turn it into a meat sauce or a pizza sauce.
