Curried Tuna Rice

This dish is really easy, especially if you make it in the rice cooker and has a nice mildly curried flavour. If you don't have Garam Masala (indian allspice) some ground coriander also gives it a bit of a different kick.

I make this for breakfast but can be eaten anytime. It is very light and easy to digest. You can eat it as is or with 1-2 tbsp of fat-free plain yougart. I make this much it feeds two people (1 cup serving) for a week.

Chai Latte

This is a great Chai recipe with its own homemade chai mix. Although the spices are ground, they give the same effect as long as the spices are fresh. I would recommend trying to find a wholesale spice store so that you do not pay to much for the spices needed. This recipe can cost in excess of $45 for the first time buy of the spices.

What-Was-In-My-Cabinet Curried Lentils

This recipe literally lives up to the name. I'm was just super hungry & needed more protein & fiber for today, plus I wanted to make something I could munch on throughout the rest of the week. I made a huge pot of jasmine rice to go with it (b/c I'm out of basmati).

Also, I get all my spices from the bulk section of Central Market, it's super cheap & perfect for infrequently used ingredients, you just spend like 50 cents on a little baggy of each. I just happened to have leftovers of all these I used, hence the hodgepodge. This is a great recipe to experiment w/ the necessary herbs & spices.

From CookingLight. I used less chicken, broth and wine, deleted the oil all together but used the same amount of spices. Very tasty. Served over rice with homemade low cal raita. A delicious dinner

Vegetable Makhani WW=6 pts (1/2 cup)

North Indian vegetable curry. Using the cashews is a must for this recipe. (I know because when I made it for a friend allergic to nuts and omitted the cashews, the dish was actually almost not edible! ^_-)
Worth 6 weight watcher points per 1/2 cup
