This is a high-fat, 'special occassion' (or SMALL portion only!) salad... But SO good! :)
This is another of the dishes I make when my husband is away. I usually half it, but it freezes well, too.
A tart, tangy dessert that satisfies your sweet tooth, but also your hunger, with oats and whole wheat flour!
My husband just loves Santa Fe Chicken Soup. After trying several recipes, this is the way we like to make it! Yummy!
In this recipe you make your own stock from boiling the bones, some meat and skin. I have added "canola oil" to my nutritional calculator to encompass the natural fats that will boil out while making the soup.
A great chicken recipe when you are tired of fixing it the same way. Serve with brown rice or whole wheat pasta and steamed vegetables.
This is a very popular cajun recipe for Gumbo. for those that don't know what File it it's ground dried sassafras leaves that are ground down to a fine powder..very flavorful.
It's amazing how the tortillas puff up like noodles. If you like noodle-type chicken and dumplings, you'll love this. It's also easy and pretty low in fat and calories! Great Comfort Food :)
A simple yet elegant dessert. The combination of sour cream with the sweetness of the brown sugar is absolutely addicting! My mother learned how to make this recipe in a culinary class she took when I was younger and it became a childhood favorite of mine. I just called it strawberry dip not knowing it actually had a name. Other variations include adding a tiny bit of orange zest or the juice of an orange, or a splash of Grand Marnier. I think it's perfect without. Serve this in a champagne or martini glass with a mint leaf for an elegant presentation.

Great tasting and inexpencive alternative to other oriental dressings serving size : 1 tablespoon\
I did some checking on the comments on my dressing. to those who think corn syrup is bad try looking up a possible side effects list? whatever. i checked to see if there was any fat in it. ???? not. and if you want to use the following if you are really scared here's the comparison
corn syrup 60cal/tbs 16.3 carbs
Honey 64.4cal/tbs 17.5 carbs
Brown sugar 51.7cal/tbs 13.4 carbs
just a side note try looking at a label in a store bought oriental dressing to see what's in it and compare the cost that will convert you to homemade dressings in a hurry :)
