Modification of my mother's 50 year old recipe. Originally with all ground beef, adjusted with hot Italian sausage, mozzarella, and cottage cheese.
Make your own sauce to make this really good. Store bought sauce can be used, but the dish won't be as yummy. Eat a small portion, and have some salad and vegetables, to make this part of your healthy routine.
This is a recipe from Better Homes & Gardens New Dieter's Cook Book, Meredith Books, 1st Ed. 1992, page 156; except we used provolone cheese instead of mozzarella.
Add some pop to frozen items and sneak in veggies for kids or grown-ups! Perfect to spruce up leftovers or freezer burned shrimp, LOL! Can be made vegetarian with substitute noted at the end of instructions.

I love pasta and scallops. My 4 year old daughter loves peas. My husband loves bacon, as does my 3 year old son. So, one night I started creating. I had some cream that needed to be used and looked on Sparkrecipes and found something that gave me a start.....the chicken broth and garlic then the recipe just formed. My daughter had seconds! This makes 8 - 1C servings including the pasta.

Get creative. I made this up to have a higher fiber appetizer. It would probably be good with spicy pepper added.
