The only thing bad about this soup is cutting up the meat. It takes a long time. So, if you want to save time...ask your butcher to cut it for you. But, you will save money to just buy a roast on sale and cut it yourself. It takes me about 20 minutes of standing and cutting the meat. Then you still have to chop up the onion, the potato, and the carrots. IT IS WORTH IT...this is good and you will have leftovers.
Using carrots makes this look and taste like traditional mac and cheese! You won't even miss it!
I healthed up a recipe i found on recipezaar by using whole wheat pastery flour, more oatmeal, flax seed, a little less dark chocolate and some coconut. Depending upon how long you cook them-7 minutes is a soft chewy cookie and 10 is a crunchy cookie. The special thing about them is that they taste more like a flour cookie than an oatmeal cookie because you turn the oatmeal into flour by blending it..
High Fiber Chocolate Chip Cookies
I also used Whole Wheat flour vs. white flour. You can also add dried fruit and nuts.
Easy, healthy and cooks up into thin crust pizzas that taste like restaurant quality.
These tangy little morsels have a scone-like texture and a cinnamon-sugar sweet coating, and are better for you than Tim Hortons!
Filled with chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and crushed banana chips... it's like the best guilty pleasure sandwich you could ever make, but so much better!
This is a labour of love if you make everything in this recipe (believe me, I did it!) but the result is SO worth it. I broke my experience into 3 days of work - one day I roasted the chicken, the next I roasted the bones and made the stock, and today I finished it all! It's a hearty, healthy and oh-so-rich meal you don't have to be sick to love! Makes 6 big bowls!
Something my dad loves * 3... peanut butter, bananas, and cookies! Not overly sweet, play with the sweetener levels to taste.
Use whole grain pastry flour to make this Sunday morning treat a healthy every day breakfast.
This is just a little change on a PB&J. It's best with butter flavored Pam, but I used regular Vegetable oil Pam one day by accident and it works just fine.
This is a super easy rice recipe that goes great with any Mexican meal! Add chicken breast or ground turkey to make it a complete meal!
By mixing in just a little of these three healthy ingredients, you boost the nutrition of a normal serving of oatmeal. Plus, it's delicious!
A wonderful recipe that I've had forever, and haven't made in a while for some reason. The flavours are infinitely variable, this is my favourite version. Great healthy summer snack for kids!
Great for leftover chicken or turkey! Double the recipe for bigger appetites. I like to serve these with carrot raisin salad, pineapple and big glasses of ice cold milk. Kids love these.
These are breakfast muffins that I make for my children. I can not get them to eat oatmeal so it’s a convenient way to sneak in a well rounded breakfast. These can be easily made without the chocolate chips, but I add them so my miniature food critics think they are getting away with something at breakfast. I specify local honey in the ingredient list because the honey in stores is often times not pure honey. Honey is often blended with other sugars for profit. Your local honey also helps those suffering from allergies. It also tastes much better!
Low GI and very filling - the perfect snack for little boys with hollow legs, and for the hungry hardworking Mum! Just be careful not to let them burn :D
