This was from a Reader's Digest magazine a few years ago. Easy, tasty, and moist. You could probably use different herbs, if you wish.
This is made entirely from fresh veggies out of my garden or fresh from the local farmer. I do not use canned ingredients. They contain salt. Which I don't cook with either. My only concern with the recipe is finding the values for a soup bone.
takeoff on a recipe called sinful eggplant, not bad for calories - similar to a zucchini parmesan
This is a duplicate recipe from another poster. However, there was no nutritional information attached to their recipe, so I'm adding it again.
Here is a favourite recipe of mine, it's packed with nutrients, and really easy to make with whatever veggies or meat you have on hand, or you can leave the meat out for vegetarian fare....
I actually used a cut called "Sandwich Steak" at my grocery store, I couldn't find it on here though, so I put in the flank steak cut.
The bibimbab sauce is actually a red pepper paste mixed with sesame oil, that can be found in most Asian markets (or if you have a really great International Section in your supermarket). If you find just the paste, then add a bit of oil at a time til you get a taste you like :)
I used my steamer for my rice and chopped veggies while the meat cooked, great multi-tasking lol...
The key ingredient for the proper flavour is the sesame oil! I tried to sub different oils, but it just doesn't taste very good, unless it's sesame.
I think the egg is the icing on this recipe, it makes it very authentic! (I lived in South Korea for a year, and ate this every other day!)
This is very filling, if I eat a serving for lunch, it really takes me past that 3:00 Snack Monster, I think because of the protein in it :)
Made a traditional dish with some lower calorie/sugar/fat substitutions.
This is a very hearty vegetable minestrone soup. It can be made vegetarian if you omit the Worcestershire sauce, substitute the beef and chicken broth with all vegetable broth.
You can add the cooked pasta at the end, or leave out for a lower carb option. You may also want to add a couple spoonfuls of pre-cooked ground Italian sausage to your bowl before serving. Top with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese for taste.
My hubby and I enjoy this with a little cheese on top and baked in the oven on top of a Kaiser bun.
This is the phase one turkey roll up made with ham
Low calorie fresh veggie juice drink with short prep time. Juicer required
This recipe originally called for whip cream, olive oil, and regular swiss cheese. I substituted evaporated skim milk, spray olive oil, and 2% swiss cheese to reduce calories from over 700 to 351 per serving.
