I am a self admitted foodie. I accepted several pounds of tomatoes from the gardners at Heart. I wanted to give back in the form of a prepared food. I was thinking mostacholli. But this will do. This chili has just enough heat to let you know you are eating chili. Some of the tomatoes are from the home growns and includes a hot pepper of some sort, I thought it was a sweet red pepper. NOT. So I labeled that one for chili. Turned out nice. Use the spices to your own liking.I was only guessing on the amounts after the fact. Tip, carmelize your ground meat. Then put the lid on and let it form it's own beef broth and use that to scrape the yum yums off the bottom of the pot. Photo, Really? Ugh. First time. If I can add it after the fact I will. I can say it is good. Use your own judgement on spices.
This is my holiday and BBQ recipe. Goes over great with guys and gals. Some time I will do half the rum and add 1/2 cup coconut rum or just add coconut extract.
This is my mom's recipe. It has very simple ingredients and is easy to make. Sometimes I make it a day ahead of time to reheat on the stove for optimum flavor.
