Icing Cake Recipes

We love the rich, sweet and salty flavor of the icing on this decadent chocolate cake! Top with fresh fruit and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

I took a delicious Oatmeal Cake recipe from a dear friend of mine, (other wise lovingly refereed to by her as "Spit" cake") and I converted some of the items to make it more "calorie" friendly!

I love carrot cake! But the cream cheese frosting and 1 cup of oil to make a moist cake is not the best way to start the morning. I lightened up the cake and icing to make a great breakfast treat.

I found a banana cake recipe in a favorite book of mine but found it to be too many calories. I tweaked the recipe and cut half the fat, a third or so of the sugars and the family still loves it- even the teens.

My grandmother's recipe. She called it Wacky Cake. Some call it Kitty Litter Cake - since you make it all in the baking dish without a bowl. The technique of adding the wet ingredients to the dry via holes like a kitty might make lends to its name.

This is a very sweet cake. Is just like apple pie but is a cake. Made with sweet cream cheese icing. A small piece of this is more than enough to satisfy a sweet tooth craving.

bake cake as directed on the box. I like to use bunt pan and make an upside down cake.
To make icing place powdered sugar in a small bowl, add lemon juice stirring gradually. icing should be like a thick paste, spoon over cake. Deliciousness.
