A made-over version of an easy tetrazzini recipe. This is a great way to use leftover turkey or chicken.
This is my own recipe based off the basic Joy of Cooking recipe- but with my own twist. Usually when I make something a first time it needs to be tweaked but this is devine. The eggs are optional - but i suggest adding them esp if you're not going to be stuffing a bird with this.
You should reheat the stuffing before stuffing it into a bird or moisten with extra egg and or stock.
Sugar free pie without the crust. Delicious for dessert or even breakfast (my favorite)
Good substitute for a holiday dinner if you don't feel like cooking a turkey.
This recipe technically belongs to Weight Watchers, and I had a heck of a time tracking it down. I made it several years ago and it was a big hit! **The calories listed are WITHOUT my modifications** I usually use margarine, fat-free cheddar and parmesan, and whole wheat penne. Even with my own lower-fat modifications, everyone really likes it. I made a much higher-fat version of this recipe for my ailing grandfather because he wouldn't eat anybody else's food but didn't want to insult me. He loved it and we were able to get some extra calories in him. Needless to say, this recipe holds a very special place in my heart.
Got this recipe from kraftfoods.com. Makes a great side dish, it's pretty enough to bring to holidays or parties, but super simple enough for a weeknight. Also, I've started adding chicken and sometimes rice to make it a one pot casserole.
I know this isn't the healthiest dish ever, but I wanted to put it in the database for my own nutritional info because I make it for my friends and family all the time. And I wish I could tell you how much a serving is.. but I use the same casserole dish every time, and just cut 8 equal squares out of it!
