I was taught to bake these at 5 years old.Gran used lard I have lightened them some.
I always use an egg glaze. The scones look more attractive. Use an egg or liquid egg white and brush on tops before baking.
Scones need a HOT oven 400 degrees. I line my large cookie sheet with Parchment paper. I use it several times over. I make many batches and freeze them to store. Microwave about 14 seconds to thaw. Depends on power.
This is definitely NOT diet food, but I always make them for friends' birthday and have one myself so as I was putting these on so I can track them I thought I would share them with you. They really are great - they look amazing and they always go down well! The long prep time is because the cakes have to cool completely before you can ice them.
A traditional New Zealand dessert. So amazingly delishious and light. You could make it with light coolwhip to lighten up on the calories, but the fresh cream really is a great treat. Perfection. The meringue forms a crisp shell with a great thick layer of marshmallowy goodness inside.
I wanted to use some apples up, and have been meaning to try recreating mu Grandma's apple crisp, but without all the refined sugars and flours.
These little creamy custards are low-fat and low-energy. They are full-flavoured and delicious, though!
A nice way to enjoy pumpkin flavored dessert, *if* you left room after all that turkey!
This is a Weight Watchers Recipe my sister gave me.. You can use white or milk chocolate melts to create different coloured eggshells.
I created this on labor day because I wanted to have some homemade banana puddin' just like the rest of the family. Banana Puddin' is a southern tradition. And the reduced fat nilla wafers get nice and soft, not mushy like with the regualr nilla wafers, because the reduced fat ones are very crisp.
This is a great and fun recipe for young ones to help with. Just be careful, it is easy to eat more then you planned.
This is super easy blueberry dessert I learned from my sister-in-law who learned it from a friend of hers. They call simply call it "blueberry stuff". It is great for summer cookouts or picnics. I've also experimented by substituting the blueberries with strawberry pie filling, peaches, and apples. All were good, but everyone agrees blueberry is the best.
this is a variation of the Cottage Cheese Cake Dessert....it is AMAZING IMO...It tastes like peanut butter cheescake pudding
This is an easy dessert that everyone loves. You can make it as healthy as you want by using low-cal crescent rolls and fat free cream cheese.
An easy way to enjoy a traditional Fall treat without all the calories. I followed the recipe on the back of a can of Libby's Pumpkin (not the pumpkin pie mix).
My husband loves banana cream pie so I make it without the crust and he still loves it. If making it for guests or an event I use a frozen crust but just don't eat it. This does not last long here...and there is only 2 of us
A healthy version of a recipe by Libby. Very tasty and a sneaky way to get come veggie in!
