This cool salad mixes traditional ingredients with sweet fruits and a sweet vinaigrette dressing for a refreshing summer taste.
This is a salad my grandmother would make all summer long. I absolutely love it. Very simple to make
Fresh healthy salad
A familiar salad with a low-cal twist
It's a beach wedding because of the pasta shells.
I've always had a taste bud defect of only liking creamy soups. Thankfully, fat free half & half adds creaminess just as well as heavy cream.
Low fat chicken salad made with greek yogurt
Cheating, using bottled peanut sauce. Still yummy, though!
I love broccoli crunch salad, but have loathed the 400 calories per cup of some of my favorites. I've tried multiple times unsuccessfully to create a healthier version that still tastes like my favorite and that helps me enjoy eating these cruciferous powerhouses without the payback. I think I have finally got it.
Kudos to LIBRARYCAT for the initial recipe I found on Sparkrecipes that led me in the right direction. I still wanted something with less calories and sugars. . .and a bigger portion.
Fish Taco, wheat tortilla, fish, special sauce.
Delicious and healthy! Only 114 calories per slice!
These are more cake like so I don't consider them breakfast food. They are also higher in calories.
These are fabulous for something quick and nutritious. They taste out of this world!
Got this from pg 256 of Vegan Living (complete idiot's guide to) book. But, like any good salad you can make this one your own by tweeking the recipe. All appropriate credit to them but I wanted to add it here for anyone else eating vegan. I hope that's ok. Great for picnics or other occassions where you might normally have egg salad. My first shared recipe. Enjoy.
Filled with Potassium, and Vitamins A and C, this salad is an excellent lunch paired with yogurt or as a side dish for dinner. This is a good dish to bring to potluck gatherings and will always be a hit!
Picnic Friendly. May serve hot, at room temperature or chilled. Serves 4, but may make smaller portions if preferred to serve 8.
This salad travels well for picnics and work lunches, and keeps for several days in the fridge. Makes a great stuffing for pita pockets, or over cooked bulgur or brown rice.
Great Potluck Meal
This reminds me of tuna salad because of the mayo and celery. It's a good sandwich filling for vegetarians or those trying to get more beans into their diet. To make it vegan, just use Veganaise for the mayo.
Healthy snack or dessert
A tasty and very lean twist on classic comfort food. A lot like a Shake-n-Bake, only without all the weird ingredients. Low carb, Low fat, High taste! Uses no prefabricated ingredients other than old-fashioned bread.
Great source of potassium, B vitamins, and selenium.
This is from Jillian Michaels' Master Your Metabolism Cookbook. THese brownies are outrageously moist and intensely chocolatey.
From the Kitchen of Camille Engel... My friends and family LOVE this recipe. It is great served alongside chicken or salmon. Serve it as a dip with tortilla chips (or jicama slices for a no-grain healthy dipper.)
I love curry, and I love egg salad. I mashed em together. Voila. This is VERY heavy on curry. If you like less seasoning, you might wish to cut all the spice amounts in half. Or, you can vary them to your liking. This is a tough one to mess up!
