When I think of dinner out, I think of T.G.I. Fridays Cobb Salad. Even though it is full of healthy vegetables it is one of the most unhealthy salads on the menu becuase of it's fattening ingredients. I have created a lighter version that tastes just as great without the guilt!
Very filling and tastes great. I grill my own chicken tenderloins with a little Lime Pepper Seasoning. I love this. With the dressing it's a little high in cal. & fat, but I splurge and have a great salad as a meal, and just watch my snacking during the day.
Here is a lovely vinaigrette that I have come across during my travels in France and perfected myself. It's definitely tangy and fresh. If you love garlic this vinaigrette is perfect. Serve it with a simple baguette and a bit of cheese, pour on your salads, or dress your meat with it.
As lunch entrées, chopped salads are light yet filling, and extremely versatile. Change a couple of ingredients, add different seasonings, and you have a whole new dish
This is a family favorite that can be used for a meal or side dish. You can add tuna, diced ham, or chicken for added flavor and protein!
There is no "COOKING TIME" --- it is actually "sitting in the fridge time"
A pretty basic low-calorie version of cole-slaw that will not add to your pudge...
I have made this hundreds of times over the years and it is especially a hit at BBQs and picnics.
There are tonnes of recipes on the web for low-calorie coleslaw .. this one is creamier, tasier and yummier than anyone I have found.
You can leave out the pepper if you don't like spicy stuff. I added some chopped onion
I love creamy coleslaw with BBQ and tried every kind without mayo but kept coming missing the creaminess. This one satisfies my cravings! I shredd the cabbage myself and find it tastes so much fresher than buying the pre-shredded bagged variety. Try it and see.
A nice summer salad that is a great dish to bring to an outdoor party... or to eat any time of the year. This recipe was modified from a full fat version and it tastes quite nice without that extra fat! The original recipe also called for baby spinach but not everyone likes spinach (like my dad). The original recipe was given to me by a family friend.
I love this salad at Applebee's. I knew I had to find a way to make it better for you. This is does not have as much of a kick but is almost half the fat and calories.
This uses light mayonnaise and horseradish for a little extra zing. I'm guessing on the serving size, but I think it's about half a cup.
