This is almost the way my mother made them. I use fresh bread crumbs, no cheese, a little less oil. I've had this in restaurants where they add chopped pine nuts and/or capers and lots more garlic, but I think it's better like this. These are expensive and take some effort so they were reserved for holidays when I was a kid. I guess this is truely an old family recipe.
I usually stuff the turkey but I've made this as a casserole and it works out very well. Put a little extra butter on top.
My daugther asked me for this recipe
Apple Sauce and Grapeseed oil cut the sugar and fat and provide healthier fats
Sweet and Red potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic roasted to sweet perfection make a hearty and healthy comfort food.
Cranberry Fruit Conserve recipe from Ina Garten with reduced sugar and pineapple added
When chicken goes on sale I buy in bulk and batchcook it in the crockpot or oven, with rosemary & thyme; then debone and freeze the meat in recipe-sized portions. When grapes go on sale, I make this salad! The rosemary & thyme add a lovely flavor to future dishes such as this salad. This recipe is also a great way to use up some of that frozen turkey meat leftover from Thanksgiving and Christmas.
• Red & purple grapes instead of green for better nutrition, reservatrol.
• Walnuts instead of almonds for omega 3's, but either are good.
• Turmeric for it's anti-inflamation and anti-cancer properties.
My favorite way to serve it is chilled overnight, eaten on a bed of shredded Romaine the next day.
Perfect for that leftover Thanksgiving turkey! This is not a light dish, so it is best served with a light salad or steamed veggie. Yum!
This recipe came from my grandfather, who was an American Indian (half Cherokee, half Cheyenne). His name was Charles Franklin Graves, because he was discovered at an Indian massacre site. He did not know his name, to he was named Charles Franklin Graves. This cake has been made by my family for many generations. It is similar to a nut cake. Once you taste this cake, you will be addicted, but one slice will be enough.
Found this on recipezaar several years ago and changed it from using regular sugar to splenda for weight watchers loved it. goes great as an ice cream topper too!!!
From the Splenda website, with a few changes (egg beaters for egg whites, applesauce for oil)

I first had something like this at an Egyptian restaurant, so I decided to try out a recipe for myself! It's a delicious substitute for green bean casserole at your next holiday meal!
A flavor-packed dish with just a little spicy kick! Serve as a side or as a main dish on top of brown rice!
Replace the green beans for any of your favorite veggies or beans!
You could even serve as a cultural alternative to green bean casserole this Thanksgiving!
Altered from another user's double layer pumpkin cheesecake recipe. This recipe will help you deal with cheesecake cravings! It is low cal and low fat enough to work in your diet, but it tastes good enough that you think you're cheating!
