Pasta with Clam Sauce (Pasta con Salsa di Vongole)
This recipe was from a friend who was a superb cook. It's been a favorite of mine for many years -- it's quite wonderful! I never thought of it as "low cal", but for this quality pasta dish, it's very reasonable. Don't substitute dried pasta (it will increase the calories, for one thing!) or canned tomatoes ... the fresh pasta & fresh tomatoes are essential to this great dish!
